Admissions Process K-12

We are thrilled that you are exploring admission to Avail Academy.  We know that choosing the right school for your child/children is not always easy.  Please know that you are important to us and we are here to help you on this journey.

Before you visit us or shortly after, we suggest you start the application process.  Classroom spaces can fill up fast and our applications are handled on a first come first serve basis. Please note that there is a $60 non-refundable application fee per applicant.  If you prefer to fill out a paper application, feel free to download here.

As a community of Christ followers, we believe it is important for families to be active in a church community.  We require that at least one of the parents be a professing Christian and we ask that you have one of your pastors or faith leaders complete a reference form as part of the application process.

We utilize a tool called FACTS that allows you to submit your financial information directly to a secure site. If you hope to qualify for financial aid, we suggest you complete this step early on in your application process. Your information remains confidential throughout the decision-making process.  To learn more information about our full and financial aid tuition plans, click here. Please note: We require families to complete the application for admissions (see link above) before their financial aid application will be considered.

This is not a required step in the application process for all grades, but typically we ask you to schedule a shadow day for children entering 6th grade and above.  We believe that it is important for your child and for our classrooms to get to know each other.  We have found this to be helpful for parents in their decision making as well. Your Admissions Director will work with you to coordinate a Shadow Day for your student/s.

This is a one-hour conversation that prospective parents have with a volunteer parent from our interviewing team. The purpose of the interview is to explore the parent’s (or guardian’s) faith commitment and desire for Christian education as it is practiced at Avail Academy. The interview team makes a recommendation to the Avail Academy board of directors regarding admission.

Incoming Kindergarten Students

Admitted students entering kindergarten will be scheduled for a developmental readiness assessment beginning in February. Registered kindergartners will have the opportunity to get a taste of kindergarten—parents, to attend an informational meeting—at Kindergarten Roundup in early May.

Transfer Students

If you are transferring your child in from another school, please request a transfer of records. We can provide a transfer of records request form or submit the form on your behalf if needed.

Students transferring into Avail Academy in grades 9-12 will also have an informal entrance interview with the high school principal.

Registration Process

Registration takes place in February for returning families and for new families who have completed the admissions process. Registration includes making a financial commitment and a first payment on that commitment, as well as determining a payment plan. All tuition payments are made through our FACTS system. To set up your FACTS account and create your payment plan, please click here.
